Ellen DeGeneres Slams Trump Using Finding Dory
During her day time talk show yesterday, Ellen DeGeneres took the time to address President Donald Trump's Muslim ban without saying much about it at all and instead used the movie 'Finding Dory, in which she stars in, to draw some obvious and timely parallels.
DeGeneres launched into an explanation of the film while also relaying a very clear message.
"Dory arrives in America with her friends Marlin and Nemo. She ends up at the Marine Life Institute behind a large wall. They all have to get over the wall and you won't believe it, but that wall has almost no effect in keeping them out," DeGeneres said; an obvious reference to the president's plans to build a wall on the US/Mexico border.
After taking a few other digs at Trump, she finishes up by clarifying the message she hopes the audience take away from the film.
"Even though Dory gets into America, she ends up separated from her family. But the other animals help Dory.
"Animals that don’t even need her. Animals that don’t even have anything in common with her.
"They help her even though they’re completely different colours. Because that’s what you do when you see someone in need - you help them."
