Rihanna Is Reportedly Getting A 10-Track Dancehall Album

Rihanna and Roc Nation have reportedly been mulling 500 records for a 10-track dancehall album. According to a report from Rolling Stone, this next album will be constructed from tracks sent in by dancehall and reggae producers over the last year-and-a-half. This will be Rihanna's first release since 'Anti' in 2016.

According to this report, artists such as Supa Dups (Drake, Nicki Minaj), R. City (Beyoncé, Simple Plan), Tyshane "Beam" Thompson (Yo Gotti), Skrillex, Boi-1da, and Kranium are involved with the writing sessions for the project.

An unnamed producer said: "If the Rihanna album sells great numbers, faith will be restored in the [dancehall] genre as something to be invested in." Dancehall is a genre of Jamaican pop music that originated in the late 70s.

Another source claims that: "[Rihanna's team] have, no lie, 500 records for this project [from] different producers and writers. They're only choosing 10 records."

Stay tuned for more news on this potential album as it happens.
