Artists We're Waiting To Hear From In 2017

2017 is well underway and we're still waiting to hear from some of the world's most anticipated acts.

We have compiled a list of artists we would love to hear from in 2017 and are eagerly waiting for them to drop some sweet tunes - or even better, an album - upon us.

10. Joey Bada$$
Joey Bada$$ wowed critics in 2015 with his debut release 'B4.Da.$$'. He was set to release an album in 2016 but had to postpone, aiming for perfection, promising fans that his sophomore endeavour, 'AABA', will drop early 2017.

9. TLC
The hip-hop duo started a Kickstarter fund in 2015 in order to fund their final album. This will be their first album without Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopez, who passed away in 2002 while recording their '3D' record. We're still waiting for more information about the release but are eager to hear how their sound has progressed after all this time or if it will remain true to the TLC we're familiar with.

8. Missy Elliott
It has been over a decade since Missy's last album, but after the release of 'WTF (Where They From)' featuring Pharrell Williams in 2015, we're hoping she has more music in the works and on the way.

7. Lil Wayne
The pro-longed release of Weezy's anticipated eleventh studio album, 'Carter V' definitely has us interested in hearing more. Lil Wayne has been tangled in a messy public contract dispute with Cash Money Records for the past three years resulting in multiple delays of the album's release.

6. Eminem
Eminem's latest drop was a Donald Trump protest titled 'Campaign Speech'. Released in October 2016, the rapper teased an upcoming album on Twitter saying this was just something in the meantime.

5. Daft Punk
In 2016 Daft Punk featured on The Weeknd's 'Starboy' album in two tracks, 'Starboy' and 'I Feel It Coming'. There were also big rumours surrounding an 'Alive 2017' world tour. Although such rumours have since been laid to rest, we still have reason to believe they may be hitting the stage this year. The duo have only toured twice before, in 1997 and 2007 so it does seem they're due to tour again in 2017.

4. Sampha
Sampha has released two solo EPs, 'Sundanza' in 2010 and 'Dual' in 2013 so he is well overdue for a debut album. He has recently announced the release of the anticipated album titled 'Process', due this February.

3. Gorillaz
Gorillaz have promised new material in 2017 and considering their last album was released in 2011, the whole world is looking forward to hearing what Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have been working on.

2. Nicki Minaj
Minaj started 2017 with a tweet confirming her relationship status and adding she's focusing on her work. This potential album release will be a follow-up from her 2014 release 'The Pinkprint'.

1. Lorde
Lorde has many desperate fans begging for more music as she is yet to follow up her debut album, 'Pure Heroine'. She has promised it very soon, however, posting on Facebook: "Writing Pure Heroine was my way of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record - well, this one is about what comes next.
"I want nothing more than to spill my guts RIGHT NOW about the whole thing - I want you to see the album cover, pore over the lyrics (the best I’ve written in my life), touch the merch, experience the live show.
"I can hardly stop myself from typing out the name. I just need to keep working a while longer to make it as good as it can be. You'll have to hold on.
"The big day is not tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon. I know you understand."

Hopefully we can satisfy our cravings with new music from these artists as the year progresses.
