Drake Trumps Michael Jackson And Sets New Record
With a year that seems to be taking the superstar to even higher heights, Drake has done it once again as he has taken down a 32-year record that was previously set by the king of pop, Michael Jackson.
Drake now proudly holds the record for the most American Music Award nominations with his current album Views, which leads all 2016 American Music Awards nominees with 13 nods, taking out the previous record of 11 by MJ.
Seemingly just another achievement for Drizzy, it gets more notoriety when you look closely at the album that it has beaten to take out this milestone. 1984's Thriller by Michael Jackson not only broke sales records but also features classics like “Beat It” and “Billie Jean” as it went on to win all 11 American Music Award nominations that it was nominated for.
With the awards scheduled to get underway November 20 at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, only time will tell if Drake can do what Michael did and win all awards that it has been nominated for. Either way, it's time to tip your hat to Drake and the year he is having. Get into some Drake inspired apparel right here and support Drizzy in style.
