With all the buzz surrounding Coachella, it's easy to forget that Australians are pretty good at throwing a party and growing some pretty good musicians as well. There are heaps of festivals all around the country throughout the year, some large and some little, for you to fix your music hunger and Coachella FOMO. 5. Field Day
Field Day has taken place every year on New Year's Day since 2002. The one-day festival is held at The Domain in Sydney and has grown in popularity over the last 15 years, now attracting tens of thousands of people. The lineup earlier this year featured Childish Gambino and Chance The Rapper as headliners.
4. Listen Out
Listen Out dance music festival plays annually from late September to early October and tours through Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. The festival has only been running for five years and has already attracted huge names in dance music, with RÜFÜS and Claptone headlining last year's lineup.
3. Big Pineapple Music Festival
Queensland's Big Pineapple Music Festival is an annual one-day event on the Sunshine Coast that promises a wide variety of music. The festival is playing in May for its fifth year and is boasting some of the biggest Australian names, like Birds Of Tokyo, Peking Duk and DZ Deathrays.
2. Maroochy Music And Arts Festival
The Maroochy Music and Arts Festival on Queensland's Sunshine Coast will be on in August this year. While this year's lineup hasn't been released yet, you can be sure it will be amazing as last year boasted Matt Corby, Allday and Bad//Dreems.
1. Splendour In The Grass
When discussing Australian music festivals one you must never leave out is Splendour In The Grass. The massive annual festival has only been getting bigger and bigger since it first started in 2001 and this year is no exception. Taking the stage from 21 - 23 July are Queens Of The Stone Age, LCD Soundsystem, Dune Rats, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Two Door Cinema Club and Peking Duk.
