NBA 2015/16 Regular Season Just Days Away!
NBA.com recently undertook their yearly survey of all General Managers for each team in the NBA and asked who they believed would win the upcoming 2015/16 Championship. Other questions were asked as well and the results really do speak for themselves.
1. 53.6 percent of GMs pick Cavs to win title - Not to surprising considering the talent on the team and the fact they were one series win away from taking out the title last year
2. 86.2 percent would start a franchise today with Anthony Davis - Undeniably one of the shining future stars of the game, Davis had a big future ahead.
3. Gregg Poppovich named top NBA coach by 93.1 percent of GMs - The Spurs have a long history of success and most can be accredited to their head coach.
4. Stephen Curry named top player to take shot with game on the line - After what most consider the best season of his career last year, who knows where this sharp shooter can take his team.
The 2014-15 Golden State Warriors were, statistically, the best championship team since Michael Jordan's Bulls. But some inside and outside the league would describe the Warriors as lucky, in that they avoided playing the Clippers and Spurs, and faced four teams with missing or injured point guards in the postseason. The league's general managers seem to agree that the Warriors aren't a budding dynasty. Only 17.9 percent of GMs pick the Warriors to repeat as champions, the third lowest percentage for a defending champion in the 13-year history of the NBA.com GM Survey. The league's decision makers have picked the Cleveland Cavaliers to win their first ever NBA championship and LeBron James to win his fifth MVP award. If they're starting a new franchise, however, general managers would overwhelmingly want to do it with Anthony Davis.
