Travis Scott's 'Astroworld' Review
Here at Culture Kings, we take our album reviews pretty seriously. We want to let the songs sink in for a bit, decide whether we really like them or just like them because of the artist. We take our time and after that we know for sure if an album is fire or not.
'ASTROWORLD' by Travis Scott is fire. Three days after its release, we can't stop listening to it. It's absolutely dope.
The entire thing feels like a summer amusement park. The crazy production, the sweet-ass melodies and Travis' iconic rap style - Scott has delivered exactly what we wanted.
With a slew of guest features to accompany Travis' improved rapping skills, every part of the project was thought about in excruciating detail to make it sound like a cohesive piece of creative genius. Even arriving in controversy, with the famous trans model Amanda Lepore being removed from the final version of the artwork, Travis didn't and shouldn't cop much heat for this. The album is simply too good, and Travis has responded to the heat by being honest and warm.
It's almost hard to believe the people Travis got on this project. From Drake to Frank Ocean, Quavo and Takeoff to The Weeknd, Kid Cudi, Kanye and James Blake, this album was worth their input.
There were huge expectations for this album and did Scott deliver? Yes. Yes he did.
